2nd pre-season game

Blidworth Welfare 0-7 Worksop Town

Despite the sporadic heavy showers the teams provided some decent fayre.... although like last Saturday, CLM Supreme v UniBond Premier = no contest.

The first shock was that we had to fork out £4 for the pleasure of entering the ground - it is only usually £3 on matchdays, so paying an extra quid because of the higher league opposition seemed a bit harsh.

The next thing we noticed was that the old snap-shed has been replaced by a bright yellow portacabin. Still had the Orange Lucozade on sale though, thank goodness.

I'm not going to even try to work out who scored what goal, but the scoring went something like this:

22 minutes - no 10 headed powerfully homed from a terrific ball into the box.

25 minutes - no. 9 swept the ball home after some fine interplay lead to the ball being fed into the area.

44 minutes - no 9 tapped in from close range after a bit of a mad scramble in the 6 yard box.

H-T 0-3

51 minutes - no. 9 played in no. 11 who calmly slotted past the keeper

68 minutes - no. 5 powered home a header from a corner

72 minutes - no. 11 finished off a great passing move

and as the game drew to a close, the no. 12 was given a simple task of heading home after some cracking wing play.

F-T 0-7

Scorers are listed on the Tigers' website - with a full report to follow

All in all, a good game, although what either team can take from it I'm not sure. Both teams played well enough. Worksop's wingers really caught the eye, the tricky little feller on the right, no. 7 showing some decent speed and control at times, and the no. 11 on the left wing played havoc with the home defence all through the game.

Wednesday -- off to Kirkby to see them play Mansfield's youth team.
